I bought this because I can never get the ones that go through the car stereo to work well. I have the hearing of an old lady and really found these to be wonderful.The only problem is finding a way to get them to stay there (I wrap away shoulder strap). They are loud enough for both male and female narrators, and they don't seem to run the battery down on my iPod any faster than usual..
